Donations
There
are almost as many ways to donate to POHA, as there are reasons
to support it. The following options are available:
Gifts
of Cash
The simplest and most popular way to make a contribution is to
write a check.
Matching
Gifts
Check if your (or your spouse’s) company has a matching
gift program in order to double or even triple your contribution
to POHA. It is as simple as filling out the form from your company
and forwarding it to POHA.
United
Way
Many companies are now allowing employees to designate specific
501 (c)(3) charities for their United Way donation. We would appreciate
your efforts in designating a portion of your donation to POHA
and possibly spreading the word to your friends and fellow employees.
POHA would be happy to fax any necessary information to your company.
Gifts
of Securities
There are considerable tax advantages to the transfer of appreciated
stock or securities to POHA. For example, appreciated securities
can be transferred to POHA and the donor would receive a tax deduction
for the full market value of the property and he or she could
escape potential gains tax.
Memorial
Gifts
You may want to consider a gift in memory of a loved one. Memorial
cards are available and all donations will be acknowledged.
“In
Honor of ” Gifts
If you make a donation in someone’s honor, the POHA will
send a card notifying the special person of your gift. It can
be a nice way to honor someone you love, or you could do this
in lieu of gift giving to friends at holidays, for birthdays or
on other special occasions or just to say “Thank You”
to someone.
